Beef 101: For New and Beginning Beef Producers
Do you want to raise beef cows, raise a steer for the family or direct market to others? Do you want to meet with other beef producers? Or are you a long time producer who would just like to brush up on the basics? Well, here is an opportunity for you.
The Richland County Extension Office will be offering a four session class on the basics of beef care. This is an introductory course that will start the foundations to any beef herd. Topics that may be included are the types of beef enterprises, nutrition, reproduction, pasture management, handling, and other husbandry needs.
The Beef 101 Class, consisting of four sessions, will be held on Monday nights at 6:30 p.m. Class will start Monday April 3rd and meet every other week. The classes will be held in the Classroom Building, located on the UW-Richland Campus. There will be no charge for the class and everyone is welcome.
